I first discovered dejarnette new orleans a few weeks ago through Indie Finds. I’m always amazed and thrilled to stumble across a new-to-me local indie crafter, but this find was especially exciting. For dejarnette new orleans, designer Katherine Dejarnette Babin creates one of a kind jewelry and accessories out of vintage glass beads, metals, textiles, semi-precious stones, and found objects such as lockets, brooches and pocket watches.
The online shop is organized by collections. You can browse through jewelry that is elegant, modern, natural, or created using found objects. There’s a little bit of something for everyone here – from necklaces made out of smoky quartz or fabric covered beads to earrings and necklaces crafted to resemble the wrought iron found throughout the French Quarter. Katherine also offers gift certificates and custom orders, in which she works with a customer to create a unique piece for gifts, special occassions and wedding parties.
