Flavor Paper – handprinted wallpaper from New Orleans

New Orleans-based wallpaper company Flavor pPperNew Orleans-based wallpaper company Flavor Paper sure has been getting a lot of buzz within the online blogging community lately! I believe I first stumbled across them via Stylehive, but a post yesterday on Blogging New Orleans made me take another look at their website. (Flavor Paper also got a notable mention this past spring by blog superstar design*sponge.)

Flavor Paper prints all of their wallpaper designs by hand in their studio, which is located in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. Each roll is made to order, and the designs and colors are very customizable (just about every print they make comes in 4 different color combinations). The company has produced custom wallpaper installations for private residences, restaurants, art galleries, and even a Bergdorf Goodman window display!

Flavor Paper’s Spring 2006 Rebirth Collection includes NOLA-inspired prints such as Fishnet and Fleur de Saveur. I also really love the Onda print — the crashing waves would be the perfect way to dress up one wall of a boring bathroom. Not all of their prints are so dramatic, though. The Huton design is subtle enough to cover an entire room with.

Flavor Paper has even dabbled in fashion by created some limited edition silks based on a few of their wallpaper designs.

These unique wallcoverings are well worth the price tag…They’re handcrafted with love and care by an independent business that is uniquely New Orleans.
