I can’t believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone and November is almost over! I hope all of my US readers had a lovely Turkey Day and I hope everyone had an equally lovely weekend! Apologies to anyone who tried visiting my site over the weekend during some brief technical difficulties (which have since been remedied).
With the month of November soon coming to a close, there are lots of things to remind you about. Deadlines to enter to win free handmade goodies for example!
The deadline to enter the New Orleans Craft Mafia Handmade Holiday Gift-away is this Thursday, November 30th. All you have to do to enter to win is sign up for our e-mail newsletter, and you just might win a prize pack of handcrafted goods, including a gift certificate to my very own Etsy shop.
Another deadline for a chance to win even more indie prizes is also coming up this Thursday… Vote for your favorite online stores in the Rare Robin Awards and you’ll be automatically entered to win 1 of 7 gift baskets, which have a total combined retail value of over $1,300!
But don’t forget about our dear friends at Indie Fixx either… fill out the reader survey for a chance to win free stuff or vote for your favorite indie supporter in the I Support Indie Knockout Contest.
Previously featured jewelry designer Karin Collins of SpoonFed Art asked us to mention the charity fundraiser she is currently participating in. Karin donated three of her unique jewelry creations (including the Violaine pendant pictured here) to the National Eating Disorder Association’s “Every BODY is Beautiful” Online Fundraising Auction. The auction ends December 6th and supports efforts to expand public awareness and prevention of eating disorders. Currently Karin’s three donated pieces are all in the auction’s “Top 10 Items” alongside a Marc Jacobs handbag and items autographed by country music stars Brooks & Dunn.
End of November reminders for NOLA-folk: check out a rare weekday show by The Bingo Show tomorrow night (tonight?), Monday, November 27th at 10pm at One Eyed Jacks. Presented especially with local service industry people in mind, this show is one not to be missed! Also, remember that Festivus starts next Sunday, December 3rd. I’ll be there, so stop by and say hi!
