The handmade holiday shopping season starts in earnest this weekend with at least two major indie craft fairs.
The Handmade Market will be held this Saturday, November 11, from 11am-5pm in Raleigh, North Carolina. Produced by The Handmaidens, a collective of independent artists & designers from North Carolina, The Handmade Market will feature over 40 local and national designers whose work ranges from holiday gifts, apparel, jewelry, accessories, paper goods, kids & baby gear and much more. There is free admission and free parking at The Handmade Market, plus the first 250 guest through the door will receive a special goodie bag, so get there early!
Also this Saturday is another massive indie craft spectacular…it’s Stitch in Austin, TX. I was able to head out to Austin last fall to check out Stitch…and let me tell you, it’s totally worth it. I’m so bummed I couldn’t make it out to Texas again this year. There will be even more artists & designers than before, plus there will be multiple DJs and two live bands playing, !RVING and +/-. This year the event is at the Austin Music Hall, and will feature over 75 craft fair booths and 20 different designers in their runway fashion show. Doors open at 5pm for shopping and the fashion show starts at 9:30pm. Stitch usually sells out, so make sure to get your tickets early.
So you’re not anywhere near Raleigh or Austin? You can still check out many of the vendors for each of these events online. Browse the partipating vendors of The Handmade Market or Stitch online and shop indie from the comfort of your own home.

Hey thanks for the mention about Stitch. It was a great event this year. Maybe you can make it to Texas next fall for the Stitch 5 year anniversary show.
No problem! I’m definitely hoping to make it out next year…I had so much fun last year and I’m really bummed I didn’t get to go this time.
