All donations to her fundraiser will benefit Louisiana based charities The Green Project and Recycle for the Arts. Both are non-profit organizations developed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina: The Green Project operates a center for recycling building supplies (such as paint and raw materials) and then offers them at low-cost to the Louisiana community in an effort to promote environmentally savvy reconstruction, while Recycle for the Arts operates a “trash-to-art” storefront that supplies low-cost recycled art supplies to artists and students in the Louisiana area. Both are very worthwhile charities, and if you donate $10 through MissMalaprop’s page, you’ll be entered for a chance to win a cool gift basket of indie crafts valued at over $150! In the spirit of the fundraiser, the gift basket treats are mainly recycled crafts, including bottlecap magnets from BornLippy and a cute denim handbag from Mallory’s own dismantled designs. This is a great opportunity to encourage environmental awareness and win some crafty treats to boot, so check it out, and watch the MissMalaprop blog for a new charity fundraise every other month!—MD [...]

[...] Mallory of MissMalaprop recently dropped us a line to let us know about the wonderfully eco-friendly fundraiser she’s hosting on her Web site throughout March and April.
