I feel the exact same way! In fact, it was such a serious misstep, I’m surprised more media outlets haven’t picked this up. I unsubscribed from the 6 cities where I normally get the emails.
They screwed up. Big time.

I totally agree with what you emailed them. Walmart? Talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel. The problem with big corporations is, they make it harder for smaller Indie businesses to make it.
They either blatantly steal ideas from the little guys or they have little 5 year olds in sweatshops making 3cents a day making the clothes that they sell.
Sad. Glad I unsubscribed.

I can’t think of anything more antithetical to Daily Candy’s target audience than Wal-Mart. Talk about a bad call. I’ve been disenchanted with DC for awhile thanks to some of their off-topic sponsored emails, but this is a new low. I’ve unsubscribed to all editions and am going to just stick with the weekly Chill Out LA newsletter. I live in Los Angeles, and have found some great spa and beauty deals on ChillOutLA.com. Between that and Flavorpill’s weekly email, I think I’m pretty well covered. I don’t need Daily Candy clogging up my inbox every day anymore.
