Storyville in Baton Rouge

Storyville in Baton RougeI just found out about the upcoming grand opening party for Storyville, a brand new hip t-shirt boutique in Baton Rouge.

The thing that had me so excited when I found out about this is how many amazing local t-shirt designers they’ll be carrying. They’ve already lined up plenty of MissMalaprop.com faves like Ichabod’s, Dirty Coast, and Supermaggie, as well as NOLA’s own Metro Three and Defend New Orleans.

The founders of Storyville (11 siblings from Hammond, Louisiana) are throwing a huge bash to celebrate the opening of their new store. Tomorrow, Thursday February 1st, from 10 am until midnight they’ll be at their shop to welcome customers and partygoers alike. There will be food, live music, breakdancers, theatre performances, and t-shirt giveaways.

Storyville will be adding even more designers soon, as well as a fully functional e-commerce website, slated to launch in February.

The retail shop in Baton Rouge is located at 236 Chimes Street, just outside of the north gates of LSU.

The founders want to encourage Storyville group and promote local art, so the storefront there also features a studio and gallery space where artists of all skill levels will be able to custom design their own one of a kind t-shirts, right there on the spot.

Sounds like I’ll have to make a special trip up the Baton Rouge sometime soon to see the new store.
