It’d be best if I spent my evening studying finance and management, but instead I find myself idly thinking about my inner-Domestic Goddess.
It doesn’t help that I recently came across Chicago-based designers Decorative Instincts on Etsy. Their belief is that our most mundance items in life should still be an expression of our individuality and beautiful to boot.
Currently, I’m coveting one of their matching apron and pot holder sets. Made from cotton duck, the contrasting, but complimentary patterns make this set fun and functional. By making pot holders with cotton and teflon padding, you’re sure not to burn your fingers while baking brownies (or pretending to)!
While you’re there, be sure to check out and admire their beautiful feather placemats; these are the perfect conversational piece for your next dinner party.

what a wonderful shop, thanks for sharing it! I never get to browse on etsy as much as I owuld like!
Apparently aprons are the next big thing…I keep seeing indie designers making the cutest aprons lately. (Is this some sort of subliminal message to do more cooking?!?)
Seriously, the stuff is making me want to go domestic goddess it’s so cute.
Stiletto– I’m glad you like it! Etsy is such a fun site, I try to visit whenever I have a chance!
Valerie– It’s crossed my mind a few times that cooking is becoming the new knitting (if that makes sense). It seems like part of an indie new wave for women to embrace their domestic/crafty goddesses. Luckily, men seem to like to share in domestic cooking godliness themselves
their prices are great too! Cute stuff!
