There are so many great new blogs and sites and things to do online popping up lately that it’s hard to keep track of them all! So real quick, I thought I’d give a rundown of some of my favorite new blogs and sites:
Blogs
- Jen from Indie Fixx has recently started a new blog called The Crafty World, in which she’ll be writing about her various crafty inspirations that just don’t quite fit the theme of Indie Fixx. She’s one of my favorite bloggers, so be sure to check her new blog out!

- Another great blog I’ve been reading lately is iCiNG. A hodgepodge of quirky style advice, the lovely host Gala encourages reader participation – you can even join in the fabulous fun for International Dress Up Day!
- If funky, quirky style is your thing (I know it’s certainly mine!), make sure to also check out the new blog Fashion Binge. It’s written by a team of three bloggers, one of which is the lady who made this Snoopy charm necklace and runs the kitschy jewelry shop Tamron on Etsy.
Social Networking
- I’ve found myself spending a bit of time on Zaadz recently. Think of it as social networking for people who want to change the world.
- Lov.li and Curbly are also both fun ways to kill some time if you’re into all things crafty and diy. Curbly is fab if you’re into do-it-yourself home decor, and Lov.li is sort of like Etsy meets Myspace. Both are great fun!
Shop & Create
- Whether you’re an independent fashion designer or just a fan of indie fashion, you might want to take a peek at Smashing Darling, a new site dedicated to bringing indie fashion to a wider audience. The site is brand new, so there are only a few designers so far, but there is already some nice stuff like this dress by Punkin NYC.
- Finally, if you’re creatively inclined, be sure to check out Fred Flare’s Next Big Thing contest. This annual contest has had some amazing entries in the past, and I’m sure this year will be no exception. In addition to having their work featured for sale on Fred Flare, this year’s 27 winners will also qualify to win a $1000 prize, for the “fred fan fave”, which will be voted on by Fred Flare customers.
