I just discovered that one of the Austin Craft Mafia members, Hot Pink Pistol, has a new Etsy shop. The artist Hope Perkins is the sister of Jennifer of Naughty Secretary Club fame.
Look what I found in her Etsy shop: the most amazing leopard print dress, handpainted with the likeness of David Bowie circa Labyrinth!! This makes me quite literally want to squeal with delight!
All the handpainted pieces here and at the main Hot Pink Pistol website are too cool for school. There’s also a whole series of dead rapper themed paintings and wearable art, as well as purses and more.
I love her work because it’s silly and kitschy but still includes plenty of totally wearable pieces.

Dear gods, it’s my size! (Okay, the bust is a bit small, but it’s kind of open, so that may be okay?!)
Okay, I was going to say that I wasn’t daring enough to wear something like that. Then I looked at her etsy shop at saw the painted taxidermy deer with hot pink horns and flowers in its ear. Egads! I love it.
MissMischief: I know! It’s perfect for you!
Maile: I agree that some of the stuff takes a pretty bold person to be able to pull it off, but if you check the main Hot Pink Pistol website there are some really cute nautical/ship themed dresses and skirts that are very wearable.
Oh, my goodness. That’s awesome. David Bowie’s even got the crystal orb. Even if I don’t own it, I’m glad to know it exists.
Hooray for Hopey! I too covet her new dresses and might have to snag one for myself. Thanks for the mention
I second Little Splurge’s sentiment: it’s reassuring to know that such amazingness exists!! That Prince dress??? HOLY SHIT. Awesome.
