Reusable Coffee Cozies at Etsy

sparrow coffe cozy by StitchellaInspired by my desire to reduce waste, especially when there is a reusable alternative to a typically disposable item, I’ve been planning to start making my own coffee cup cozies out of recycled fabric. I hate throwing away those paper sleeves, but I’m a coffee junkie and I don’t want to burn my hands either.

Out of curiousity I started wondering who else is already making their own versions, and upon a quick check of Etsy I found some really cute cozies!

I actually got started on my search after seeing this wonderfulgood luck cuff from AlyTheRed handmade felt cozy (seen above) on lov.li, which is a social networking site for artists and crafters. The links there led me to the Stitchella Etsy shop, where this coffee cozy is available for purchase along with equally adorable iPod cases and more.

Next, after a search on Etsy for “coffee cozy” I stumbled across AlyTheRed’s shop. She has a TON of lovely and extremely affordable cozies in her shop, including this one which is perfect for Irish coffee sipping on St. Patrick’s Day. Most of her cozies are only $5.50, so grab a couple and swap with friends.

I have one of the pirate coffee cuffs that AlyTheRed personalized for me with a grommet and itty bitty carabiner to snap onto my key chain when not in use.

I LOVE it!

Cuffs also fit on same-shaped reuseable mugs. Looks especially nice on the metal ones. Dress ‘em up! Yah!

cheers,
