I’ve been back in New Orleans for more than a day now, after spending the weekend in Pittsburgh for the Craft Congress. I’m still trying to get back in the swing of things and wrap my head around all of the exciting thoughts this experience brought to mind.
It was really inspiring to meet so many amazingly talented and creative people. I got to talk with Rob and Corinne of Threadbanger, an online tv show about people who make their own fashion (that’s them interviewing me in the picture at right).
I got to know countless cool indie craft fair organizers, from all over the country, Canada and the UK. I actually spent a lot of time with the Toronto contingent of Becky, Jen and Leah, as they were also staying with my lovely Pittsburgh hosts.
Big thanks to all of the people who put this event together in Pittsburgh and opened up their doors to us. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but Pittsburgh totally blew me away…what a cool, arty town! If it didn’t get so darn cold up there I’d be really tempted to move! (I’m a southern girl at heart, what can I say.)
I know this is kind of short, but I’ve got to dash off to work. If you’re interested, there are plenty of pictures in the Craft Congress Flickr pool to check out of the weekend’s events. I should be back on track with regular posting tomorrow. Hope everyone else had a great weekend…I know I did!
