Well, I’m off to NYC this weekend to celebrate both my birthday and the Trashion trunk show at Etsy Labs! I can’t wait to hang out with the Etsy gang and meet some of my fellow trashionistas!
Coincidentally, the same week as I’m preparing to go to this show, the Etsy Bloggers weekly theme is “preparing for a craft sale”. How have I been preparing? Well, I’ve spent most of today packing, both personal clothes and necessities, as well as my handmade clothing & accessories. Pins, barrettes and other accessories are neatly tucked away into plastic pouches, organized by type. I’ve got some last minute additions for the free swag bags to be given away to the first 25 people through the door. I also made a quick run to the bank to get change for sales. The only thing left to do is to decide which books to bring on the plane (acquired on PaperBackSwap of course).
Here are are some links to some really great articles on preparing for craft shows, including a how-to for if you want to host your own show!
If you’re in NYC, I highly recommend you drop by the Trashion trunk show. Here’s the details:

If you’re not in NYC and still want to join in the fun, you can visit Etsy’s workshop on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. EST. They’ll be broadcasting the event live, plus you’ll be able to chat with others in a virtual party. I hung out there for last month’s trunk show and it was fun!
I’ll be back on Monday… the lovely Miss Mischief will be holding down the fort and making a post or two while I’m gone.
