I recently received my copy of the first issue of mix tape zine in the mail and I quickly devoured it. Taking its inspiration from CROQ Zine, this Australian based indie publication is full of articles and info on green living, crafts and artists, and cool cultural stuff (I really enjoyed the piece on pulp fiction…I’m going to have to hunt eBay now for some of the recommended titles).
This first issue sold out quickly, but they’re already hard at work on issue 2. The first 30 zines from this next issue will be special editions, accompanied by all sorts of handmade goodies. I’d highly recommend bookmarking their Etsy shop so you can snatch up a copy when they go on sale. I’m really glad I was able to pick up this first edition. I was actually interviewed for the Best of Etsy piece on recycled fashion, but they had so many responses they couldn’t fit them all in the zine… you can check out the mix tape zine blog to read my interview.
