I saw these beautiful fabric corsages this morning on Try Handmade and instantly fell in love. Aren’t they amazing?
These flower brooches are created by artist Kumi Middleton who is based in Northants, UK. The material she uses for these flower corsages includes genuine kimono fabric that she buys in Japan at second-hand shops or kimono shops which sell remnants, and sometimes she even uses fabric from kimonos inherited from her family. I also like the fact that each one is very reasonably priced – only $13 US!

wow! how lovely! I think I’d feel bad only paying $13 for one if it was made from a family kimono! How nice would it be to get one of these on Vday or another special occasion?
I love how flowers can really brighten up any outfit, and the kimono fabric in these is lovely!
The detail is incredible! Bargain x
Thank you for all of your encouragement!
Yes, my mother was going to throw all the old kimono away and I managed to rescue some and do something with it. Some of them were quite tatty ( in that case I dyed it), but some are still very usable and beautiful. I do wash them, though!
I prefer these for special days.
