It’s just the start of a long Mardi Gras weekend here in New Orleans! Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be marching with the Noisician Coalition in the Box of Wine parade, which rolls between the Krewes of Thoth and Baccus parades along one mile of St. Charles Avenue.
The Krewe do Craft will also be marching in the Box of Wine parade, and many of my local crafty friends will be participating in that as well! Their theme this year is “Alice in Craftyland”, and they’ll be tossing out lots of handmade, recycled throws, like the ones pictured here:

That’s so exciting that the Noisicians are walking along St. Charles this year! I wish I could be there to see it or walk in it.
And I LOVE the handmade throws– how fantastic!
I looked for you and Dave and Matt Vaughn in the Noisician Coalition and couldn’t find any of you. I finally walked out into the middle of the street and accosted Krewe do Craft so I’d be sure to see my peeps!
Rachelle, Matt Vaughn was right at the front for that march. Dave and I were on opposite sides though; I was on the river side of the march. Unfortunately I never made it to the Lundi Gras march though, cause I’m sick as a dog with the flu or something.
Ack, I hope you’re feeling better, Mal! Especially in time for tomorrow night…
