I just found out about a brand-new video-based online marketplace called The Talk Market, because Matt Singer, the CEO, emailed me to let me know about the new site and offered up TEN $10 Gift Certificates to give away to you guys!
The Talk Market reminds me a lot of Shopflick, which I’m a big fan of, but I can definitely see some differences, mostly in the way that sellers can easily set up both their shop and add video (even with extremely limited video production know-how). They’ve already got some designers I’ve featured here in the past, including the awesome MapTote:
It’s free to create videos and list products on The Talk Market, and anyone with a basic webcam and a computer connected to the Internet can make a video and set up shop here. The site will guide you through, step-by-step, including hints on what to say about your work or products, and their automatic video creation software will take care of editing the video for you as well as allow you to easily add professional motion graphics and soundtracks.
For shoppers The Talk Market has a little something for everyone too. Their initial idea was to recreate the experience of shopping in-person at all the best New York boutiques. As you shop around the site, you’ll get to hear from the designers, inventors, store owners and artists themselves. There’s lots of different stuff to choose from (over 1000 hand-selected boutique products already!); everything from unique jewelry and boutique fashion to natural beauty and gourmet food to home design and baby gifts.
