For some reason we’ve had a sudden cold snap during the last few days. This unexpected cold weather just makes me want to snuggle up in bed, maybe with a cuddly stuffed animal like the Socktopus.
These handcrafted critters are made from recycled sweaters, so no Socktopus is exactly like another. Socktopus designer Clarity Miller also offers kits so you can make your own Socktopus, Sock Monkey or Sock Dog. How cute! And these kits are recommended for ages 8 and up, so they would make a fun little family project for a chilly day indoors.
There are plenty of other critters that can be crafted from socks as well, like these handmade sock monsters by Yoyodyne Galactronics. Each one is one-of-a-kind and has its own name, personality and backstory!
