A few weeks ago, Ideal Bite sent out a tip about natural allergy remedies. I am so, so grateful for that particular tip, because they mentioned that locally produced honey is a great all-natural way to cure pollen related allergies.
I mentioned this to my co-worker who was having lots of trouble with her allergies. (Did you know that New Orleans is one of the worst cities in the U.S. for allergies?) She found some local honey at the farmer’s market and started eating it with her breakfast on a daily basis, and she’s found that it’s helped to relieve most of her allergy problems. I sought out the same local honey guy at the farmer’s market a few weeks ago, as I was also having allergy issues, and I’ve been using honey in my coffee each morning instead of sugar, and I’ve started seeing a difference!
I love this tip because it means I don’t have to resort to allergy drugs, AND I can support the local bees! Have I mentioned that I’m a little obsessed with the plight of the bees? You can seek out local honey providers here or just check out your local farmer’s market!

im so glad i found this post ! i hate taking allergy meds and i have horrible allergies and i just suffer through but wow what a simple simple thing to do with the honey and im going to the farmers market on saturday so i can see if theres some there and give this a try! thanks!!
I was told by someone that natural honey also has natural antibiotics in it. I’m not sure if this is true, but it’s something to research, very interesting!
