Here are a few quick things I’ve been meaning to mention…

First up, Worn Again 3 is now less than a week away! This is the third year for this recycled fashion show to take place here in New Orleans, and it’s also my third year to participate. (That’s last year’s outfit, at left.)

I spent SO MUCH time working on my outfit this year, it’s ridiculous. Probably hundreds of hours, literally. I’ll have pictures soon, I promise! If you’re near New Orleans, you should definitely make plans to check out the event, next Saturday, July 18 at The Howlin’ Wolf. Tickets are available via their website for both the patron party and the main fashion show. Want more details? The Gambit recently did a feature on the event, as did the Live Green Orleans blog.

naked apartments

I’ve also been doing some guest posting at the Naked Apartments blog recently. While their site is aimed at New Yorkers (the theme is making NYC apartment living easier), there are a lot of great home and lifestyle tips that can apply for anyone. They just had a post on some delicious sounding egg salad (I’m a sucker for egg salad). I’ve been helping with the NY Green section, and I’ve made posts on both Envirosax reusable grocery bags and the EnviroCurtain shower liner.

Fair Trade the White House

The guys behind Anti-Body fair trade lip balm and body care have just let me know about a great new initiative that they’re working on: Fair Trade the White House aims to encourage the First Lady to join the fair trade movement and make the White House a “Fair Trade Home.” Sign the petition, or check out the savings area for discount codes for participating fair trade retailers.

DailyWorth

I also started subscribing to the DailyWorth free daily emails recently after reading about them on a few different blogs. These free daily tips are targeted at women who want to improve their knowledge and outlook on all things personal finance, business, and entrepreneurship related. It’s a great little dose of encouragement in your inbox each day.
