Fleurty Girl – New Orleans Inspired Tees

by MissMalaprop on August 3, 2009

If you live in New Orleans and haven’t yet heard of Fleurty Girl t-shirts, you must be living under a rock. I feel like lately everywhere I turn, Fleurty Girl is there!

Fleurty Girl

This new line of New Orleans inspired tees made its debut at Storyville on Magazine Street a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to go to the launch party so bad, but unfortunately it was the same date & time as Worn Again.

Fleurty Girl is designed by New Orleans native Lauren Thom. Most of the shirts probably won’t make much sense to anyone who hasn’t spent time in New Orleans, but if you know the meaning of “making groceries” or you consider yourself a Yat, you’re going to love these tees!

You can order Fleurty Girl shirts online or get them at Storyville, which has been getting plenty of press lately for their infamous Brad Pitt for Mayor shirt.

On the eve of the four year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, I think everyone here is very proud of how far we’ve come and hopeful about the rebuilding we still have left to do. I’ve discovered a couple other new favorite local sites in recent weeks. Live Green Orleans is rounding up all the latest green news from around the city and beyond, and iHeartnola.com is doing some coolhunting, New Orleans style. I recently signed up to attend the 4th annual Rising Tide conference, a meeting of bloggers and citizens dedicated to helping New Orleans rebuild. Harry Shearer is this year’s guest speaker! Let me know if I can look forward to meeting you there!

Oh! And a big thanks goes out to Susan Langenhennig, the fashion writer for The Times-Picayune for picking MissMalaprop as one of her design blogs worth the click. I’m flattered, truly!
