NOLA Love T-shirts & New 1000 Markets Shop!

by MissMalaprop on September 10, 2009

As I mentioned a few days ago, I spent a good bit of time over the holiday weekend working on setting up my shop on 1000 Markets. It got approved for public consumption yesterday, and even though I still have quite a few things I need to take pictures of and add to the shop, I’m excited to share my new shop with you!

I’m really excited because I finally accomplished something I’ve been meaning to do for quite awhile… get more t-shirts printed with my “NOLA Love” design. This was my first attempt at teaching myself how to screen-print a couple of years ago, and I printed some shirts myself with this design. This is one of my first attempts:

Though I was happy with some of my attempts, not all of them were coming out exactly like I wanted. I decided that screen-printing is not exactly my thing. BUT I knew that I still wanted more shirts made with this design, so I teamed up with my friend Chris from Ichabod’s and the new shop Skip N’ Whistle on Oak Street here in New Orleans. He was my hero last weekend and got me some shirts printed at the last minute in time for Project 30-90. (You can see them peeking out from the back of my rack in this photo or check out more photos of my booth at Project 30-90 in my Flickr photostream.)

Anyway, now I’ve got them up for sale in my 1000 Markets shop! This first style is printed on Alternative Apparel unisex Eco-Heather tees, in a grey v-neck with a light eco-friendly ink for a vintage look. I’m really happy with the way they turned out! I should have a new style soon, printed on a blue organic cotton tee with colored inks.

Congratulations on the shop – I love the shirt! I just posted a link to your store to my friend’s facebook page – I think she’ll fall head over heels in love with it. She lives in Alabama but her heart has always been in New Orleans :)
