A couple of weeks ago, the team at 1000 Markets offered to send me a press kit to show me a little more about all of the amazing things that can be found on their site. That initial email sparked my curiosity and I’ve fallen in love with 1000 Markets since then! You may have noticed me picking more items from there in recent weeks, and I also started my own shop on 1000 Markets.
The thing I love most about 1000 Markets is what they refer to as “The Artisan Experience”. Everything feels hand-picked and the quality is top-notch. When the press kit arrived at my door earlier this week, the quality of items I found inside was no exception. The wrapping was absolute perfection — it was absolutely one of my favorite packages ever to open up and see what was inside. It was like Christmas came early!
First I opened up a beautiful origami photo album made by Pins + Paper that was filled with postcards describing some of the unique markets and items found at 1000 Markets.
I received a gorgeous notecard & gift tag set from Vanity Claire (check out her shop — her greeting cards and stationery are amazing!), some delicious smelling “Lime in da coconut” soap by Intentions, a lovely scented sachet from Anna’s Trunk (I’m thinking about keeping it in my car to keep things smelling good!), some gourmet handcrafted jam by Lemonbird Handmade Jams, and a stunning pair of enameled copper and sterling earrings by Sue M. Designs (these are possibly my personal favorite out of the bunch!).
1000 Markets really is pretty amazing… I could spend hours browsing that site and never fail to find beautiful handmade things to lust after. I really do think that it’s going to emerge as one of the leaders in handmade shopping portals online, because they ensure the quality of products and they make it really easy to navigate the site. If you haven’t already taken a peek at 1000 Markets, I definitely recommend it!

I’m glad you enjoyed the press kit! I was wondering who was receiving them and its nice to hear a first hand account from someone who was lucky enough to get one. I know lots of work went into packaging them. How fun for you to have an early Christmas. I want a press kit darn it!
thebadcat, I could definitely see the work that went into the packaging! I’m assuming that press kits also went out to other bloggers as well as more mainstream media types.

Doesn’t 1KM have the best vibe? I’ve been there a few months and although sales have been slow, I’m hopeful and feel it’s the best venue for what I do. And the purchase process is a breeze – if you’ve bought anything from Amazon, you’re all set.
I have a shop on 100markets and there has never been a better place to show off my designs. The market is awesome and the folks who keep it going are the absolute best!

Mallory – I have to tell you I was so intrigued about this site that I had to go take a look and I was so impressed I opened up my own shop, offering our handcrafted barefoot sandals in their wedding area. 1000 markets is so beautiful, I’m so happy your blogging about it, I have a shop at both there and etsy. Etsy gets a lot more traffic and sales, but I love how great my headbands look on 1000 markets. I love how they are selective about who gets to sell there so buyers are only looking at top quality things. I am hoping that word spreads about what a great place it is to buy awesome handmade products!!!
