So apparently it’s a tradition among many in New Orleans to spend Thanksgiving day at the Fair Grounds, watching the horse races and dressing to the nines. I’d heard about this for the last few years, but this year was my first time to actually make it to the Fair Grounds for the races. Picking out horses based on their silly names (Chocolate Soldier anyone?) was fun enough, but my favorite part was people watching and seeing everyone’s fancy outfits and silly hats! Plus we ran into SO many friends, and we had a blast! This will definitely be a new Thanksgiving tradition for us!

The always lovely Angie, wearing an outfit I’m sure she probably made herself. (She’s so talented!)
I LOVED her coat and hat!
These girls were the cutest!
As were these ladies!
Emily from Sweet Olive Soap Works & her husband Chris, who is the drummer for The Bingo Show!
I loved these ladies and their race appropriate headwear. They gave me a card, the hats are designed by Kate McNee.

Ann, thank you!
The weather was indeed, absolutely gorgeous!
Katherine, that’s amazing! I saw some fancy cameras out there but I had no idea anyone from Getty was taking photos. If anyone deserves to be photographed by them, it’s Angie!
OMG, I *love* Emily’s coat!!!
