Crafty Links

Timothy Adam has started yet another amazing site for Etsy sellers and lovers of all things handmade. It’s called Handmade Spark. Timothy is always doing so much to inform and promote handmade artists… he’s created applications like Handmade Compete to help Etsy sellers, and he’s done some great guest posts here on Miss Malaprop in the past: Squeezing Your Advertising Dollars, 3 Fixes for the Low Views on Etsy, and Very Quick Google Tip for Your Etsy Shop.

I just recently discovered a new site for bloggers called SeededBuzz. It’s sort of like a marketing cooperative for bloggers… you post “seeds” or summaries of your best blog posts with a link to the original post and then people can “buzz” your seeds by posting their own posts and linking back to yours. Basically it’s a great way to find interesting blog posts by blogs that you may or may not already be familiar with. The site is still currently in beta, but if you’re a blogger and want to join, you can use the invite code MissMalaprop to sign up.

I just discovered Pie Bird through SeededBuzz. Her blog is filled with recipes, tutorials, and project ideas, and she’s got a wonderful Etsy shop. I love her tutorial on how to make tea cup candles. This is such a cute and easy gift idea, and a great way to upcycle those lone thrift store teacups. You can see another post about someone was inspired to salvage their mismatched china as candle holders here.

My friend Emily from Sweet Olive Soap Works sent me a link to this shop this morning. If you like stargazing and astronomy, or know someone who does, these handmade starfinders or planispheres are a cute version of the usually plain looking charts of the stars and constellations.
