World of Judaica – Jewish Art & More

by MissMalaprop on January 25, 2012

A month or so ago, I was admiring the handcrafted glass menorahs made by a local artist friend of mine (and the husband of one of my co-workers!) Andrew Jackson Pollack. I love art inspired by cultures other than my own – not only is it beautiful in its own right, but it gives the viewer a glimpse into understanding something new.

World of Judaica is a site specializing in all sorts of beautiful Jewish art and silver Judaica jewelry and artwork, including work by the world-renowned Hazorfim, a collective of expert sculptors, artists, and silversmiths, founded in 1952.

One of the artists I discovered via World of Judaica is Yair Emanuel. This Israeli artist is known for his use of vivid colors, which of course is why I fell in love instantly with his work. When you look at these colorful pieces, you can’t help but smile.

World of Judaica also offers many Dead Sea products. The Dead Sea has attracted people since ancient times for its supposed health and healing properties, due to the mineral content of its waters as well as many other factors. Supposedly the Queen of Sheba was one of the first to seek out its healing waters, and Cleopatra famously built the world’s first spa along its shores. Today, many people still seek to incorporate the properties of the Dead Sea into their own beauty regimens, through the use of Dead Sea cosmetics, bath salts, and other items made from Dead Sea minerals. World of Judaica offers many of these, including one of the most famous and highest quality Dead Sea brands, Ahava.

Head on over to World of Judaica to check out all they have to offer. No matter what your heritage or religion, I think you’ll agree that beauty can be found anywhere you look with an open heart and open eyes.
