Put A Bird On It: eShakti Fashion Giveaway!

Birds of bright plumage dress by eShakti

hat – handmade by Love, Marigold
dress – eShakti, Birds of bright plumage dress
shoes – Gianni Bini Tiara T-Strap Sandals
(helmet – trying on a Royal Guard helmet at the 501st mixer!)

I was recently offered the chance to try out a dress from eShakti. I’d heard a lot about them from Ashe over the last few years, but had yet to try them out. (Because, let’s face it, I usually get my fill of dresses from Trashy Diva.)

I really love the fact that they offer all their styles in sizes XS to 6X, and will make the clothes to fit your own measurements in addition to offering standard dress sizes. I also love that you get the chance to customize your clothing… like the dress but want the skirt to be a little longer, or shorter? Done! Want a slightly different neckline or different sleeves? Easy, peasy.

I’m REALLY picky about quality, fabric and texture when it comes to clothing. When I shop for clothes in a store, I touch things, A LOT. I hate most polyester and synthetic fibers. So I was a little nervous about how the dress I chose would feel, considering it’s made from polyester crepe. But I loved the colorful bird print on the Birds of bright plumage dress, and I knew it would be a perfect addition to my Put A Bird On It costume plans for Dragon*Con. (I managed to pull off 2 looks that day, with my bird skirt made for me by my friend Kendra for day, and this dress for night!)

I ordered the dress in my standard size, no custom measurements, but I did have it made with a shorter skirt and a deep V neck instead of as originally pictured. I was really pleased with the quality of the fabric when it came in, and it fit me perfectly! And it has POCKETS, which Trashy Diva has also spoiled me for. AND it matches my hat and shoes perfectly with its crazy colors. What more could a girl want?

Now eShakti is giving more folks the chance to try out one (or more!) of their dresses. Their giveaway includes:

– 1st place prize: one winner will receive a dress each season for the year. (estimated $430 value)
– 2nd place prize: three winners will pick the dress of their choice
– 3rd place prize: three winners will pick the skirt or top of their choice.

I am digging the dress, but the shoes are just killer. The hat pulls it all together. You really put your own twist on it!

Thanks! The dress really pulled it together for me – find it was pretty fortuitous! I already had the hat and was planning to wear it with my bird skirt, which has a bit of orange in it, and found the shoes while on vacation with my mom a few weeks back, fell in love with them not knowing exactly what I’d wear them with… and then of course this dress popped up which matched both!!
