Last weekend David had a bunch of 501st Legion events to attend. We did 3 different events in about a 24 hour period. It was good timing though, as it’s been a rough couple of weeks, since David’s dad just recently passed away after a long fight with Parkinson’s disease. All of the Star Wars themed joy helped take our minds off of things for a bit.
First up, we headed out to Metairie last Friday night for a blood drive at BSI Comics. Peter Mayhew, the actor who played Chewbacca in the original Star Wars movies, was there!

Stormtroopers can donate blood too.
Saturday we drove to Baton Rouge for two different events. First we headed to Petsmart to help promote the APAWS pet adoption day.
We were SOOOO tempted to bring this little girl home with us. I don’t know how our dog Molly would feel about a new baby sister though. This sweet baby, dubbed Juliet, was an Australian Shepard / Boxer mix, with one blue eye! She was so sweet, and everyone she met fell in love, so I’m sure she’s found a good home.
I borrowed David’s helmet for a bit, and showed off my new Stormtrooper tank top.
We ended the evening marching with the Krewe of Jupiter and Juno parade in downtown Baton Rouge. This is us with local dance troupe the Babycakes. (Who I would totally want to join if I lived in Baton Rouge. Bonus points, they have the same costume colors as Noisician Coalition!)
