pencilpin.jpgI originally noticed Jennifer Maestre’s Pencil Pins when someone featured a pendant on the front page of Etsy. I was immediately struck by the design and color of the pendant, without realizing that it was made from recycled colored pencils.

Her shop brings out the middle-schooler in me– each pendant or pin is made of vibrant colors and geometric designs, while juxtaposing the grains and angles of the pencil. The Diagonals and Dots pencil pin (featured right) is a beautiful example of her work. I love the scale of green and citrus hues uses, and the three contrasting shapes and lines of the piece.

If you’re located in Massachusetts, you should check out some of the shops that carry her jewelry line.
