Eco Friendly Wedding Options

green & eco-friendly, lifestyle

Weddings are, hopefully, one of the biggest and most spectacular events in a person’s life. But unfortunately that can mean a lot of mess, and waste, and well… it’s not necessarily the greenest occasion, at least when done traditionally. Fortunately though, times they are a changing and there are lots of eco friendly wedding options these days and plenty of ways to make your nuptials a little greener.

The Green Bride Guide: How to Create an Earth-Friendly Wedding on Any Budget

The Green Bride Guide by Kate Harrison was the first book I read on this topic, and it was totally eye-opening. You can check out my full review of it here. (She also has a great website, full of so many resources, including photos and stories from real-life eco-minded weddings!)

Luckily there are plenty of other resources out there as well. The number of eco-conscious wedding planners is on the rise. Plus, with the rise of wedding themed blogs, the internet is always full of more and more ever-changing resources for green wedding planning!

Wedding website The Knot offers a great overview of the basics of planning a green wedding. One of my favorite wedding sites, Offbeat Bride, often shares stories of weddings that strive to be more eco-friendly. There’s also a new magazine and blog dedicated to the topic, called Eco Beautiful Weddings.
