I recently met Kat via Etsy. She’s the Baton Rouge-based crafter, quilter, and entomology grad student (bugs & insects!) behind AnteLucan Daisy Designs. She’s pretty new to Etsy, but she’s been doing a variety of crafting for a long time, including professional machine quilting, jewelry-making, photography, weaving, knitting and more.
My favorite piece in her shop is this caffeine addict necklace…perfect for someone like me who absolutely must have coffee in the morning (and maybe in the afternoon) to make it through the day. She’s got other fun jewelry, as well as supplies and pattern books in her shop right now, so go check her out!
In other Etsy-related news, I just broke down and bought this art nouveau messenger bag purse I’ve had my eye on for a few weeks now. This particular bag is a limited edition fabric, so you might not be able to get your hands on one exactly like it, but designer Jen St. Cyr offers up tons of different custom and pre-made messenger bags, diaper bags, and utility aprons in her Etsy shop and on her website, Construction for All.
You can choose from an assortment of floral, brocade, tattoo or Mexican-themed fabrics, or even have Jen custom create a bag to your specifications out of whatever fabric your heart desires. Jen is based in Seattle and if you’re in her area, you can often find her at indie craft shows such as Urban Craft Uprising and I Heart Rummage.

The caffeine pendant is so incredibly clever. I love the idea and can’t help thinking of the possibilities. Hopefully the one for alcohol is too big.
