Business Resources for Artists, Crafters and Creatives

I’ve compiled a lot of helpful blog posts and free biz tips here at Miss Malaprop, and I occasionally teach local workshops and speak at events throughout the New Orleans area and beyond. I’ve also written a book called How To Make Money at Craft Shows!

  • Arts Council New Orleans is a private, nonprofit organization designated as the city’s official arts agency. They produce the monthly Arts Market of New Orleans and offer access to resources and opportunities for artists including grants, job opportunities, calls to artists, creative workshops and more.
  • Stay Local! connects local, independently owned businesses in the Greater New Orleans area to resources, new markets, and each other.
  • GNOInfo.com is an online directory featuring links to local business assistance options and business resources.
  • Louisiana Small Business Development Center offers low- or no-cost guidance and training for small business owners and potential owners.
  • Good Work Network is a business development program serving minority- and women-owned businesses in 15 parishes throughout South Louisiana. They provide entrepreneurship training, financial education and more.
