Shop

When I first started MissMalaprop as a blog in August 2006, my goal was to shine the spotlight on all of the amazing handmade goods and indie artists and designers out there, as well as to showcase the wonderful recycled and eco-friendly alternatives currently on the market. Even as a little girl, I have always wanted to run my own boutique, and this website was started with the intention of gradually building towards that goal.
Now, after 3 years of writing about indie artists & designers here, I want to get serious about developing my own boutique so that I can give even more support and exposure to artists and products like the ones I feature on this site. I’m currently doing markets and events around New Orleans, selling handmade and eco-friendly products made by myself as well as other artists. To stay up to date on where I’ll be, sign up for my free e-mail newsletter at the bottom of this page.
I also offer handmade home shopping parties for those of you in the greater New Orleans area, as well as surrounding areas including Baton Rouge and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. These shopping parties are a unique experience and a great way to shop for gifts without the stress of hitting the mall! (Think Tupperware or Mary Kay party, but with amazing handmade goods instead.) Find truly unique gifts and support handmade & eco-friendly design! Get in touch with me to book your own handmade shopping party at your home or office — as a host, you’ll automatically get $25 in shop credit as a thank you, plus 10% of the total sales I make at your party as shop credit. Free stuff for you!

For a taste of what I offer, here’s a few shots of my booth at Project 30-90 and at Po-Boy Fest. I’m currently stocking amazing tiny top hats and hair accessories from my best friend Ashe of Mischief My Dear, hilarious cards and magnets from The Frantic Meerkat, vintage fabric iSockits by Blythe King, wicked embroidery patterns and kits from Sublime Stitching, delicious smelling soaps by Sweet Olive Soap Works, adorable towels and produce bags from Wonder Thunder, recycled leather and vintage button rings by Greenbelts, eco-friendly cloth pads from Party in My Pants, reusable shopping bags by bbbegonia, bath & beauty products from Manor Hall Soap Company, wallets by Tinymeat, DVDs of the documentary Handmade Nation and so much more! I’ve also got my own designs, including upcycled denim & lace skirts, cozy neckwarmers made from vintage and remnant fabrics, recycled fabric flower barrettes and fleur-de-lis fabric pins.
I hope you’ll come out and see me! If you’d like more information or have questions on what this is all about, feel free to contact me!
xoxo,
Mallory
