I brought my dog to the vet this morning for her yearly check-up. I was very happy to hear that she’s doing fine, and in some ways is feeling even better than a year ago, just after we first got her. (She was a stray for awhile when she was younger and she has a heart murmur, but the doc said that the murmur sounds better than it did last year.) Her only real issue is some tartar buildup on her back teeth. The doctor gave me some special dental treats to try, but I also just ordered some more sweet potato dog chips from Snook’s.

Snook's Sweet Potato Dog ChipsWhen I visited Portland back in May, I had a great time checking out all the amazing stuff at the Saturday Market. While I was there, I picked up a present for my pup in the form of some of these dog chips. When we first gave them to her, she was a little hesitant, but she quickly devoloped a taste for them and loves them now. They’re made from human grade organic sweet potatoes, and they’re really crunchy and good for her teeth. I’ve heard that they’re pretty tasty for people too, but I haven’t exactly tested that.

Snook’s makes other natural care pet products as well. I also ordered some of their tooth oil to try out. You can get their stuff online, of course, and if you’re in Portland I’m pretty sure they’re regulars at the Saturday Market.
